The Power of Culture

The conference African Architecture Today, held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana was drawn to a close on the 8th of June 2007. Speakers and participants were present to try to define African architecture and the state it is in at present.

African architecture is mostly associated with vernacular architecture. However, there is much more to be discovered. African architecture definitely did not die when western influences touched the African architects and builders.
